My TwitterView with CDC NPIN

Last week I was asked to be Twitter-Viewed by the CDC NPIN. The CDC National Prevention Information Network (NPIN) is the U.S. reference, referral, and distribution service for information on HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), and tuberculosis (TB).Of course I agreed. Below is the Twitterview. Since it was conducted on Twitter it is short and sweet and to the point.

POZIAM
@CDCNPIN I blog hoping to reach those that are living with HIV. I want them to see that their life isn't over after a diagnosis
@CDCNPIN I want to show those living with HIV/AIDS that their dreams are not infected.

@POZIAM What are your long-term goals in raising awareness about #HIV? And when do you believe your fight will be won?

POZIAM
@CDCNPIN My long term goals are to continue 2 help people newly diagnosis move past their HIV diagnosis & comfortable in their skin again

@CDCNPIN The fight will be won when the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS is diminished and the ADAP waiting lists come to an end.

@POZIAM How do you feel that your radio show and web sites address stigma within the #HIV positive and LGBT communities?

POZIAM:
@CDCNPIN The radio show addresses stigma every time someone shares their story. It allows HIV+ people to be more then just a statistic.
@CDCNPIN It gives the HIV comm. a much needed voice & shows people that a HIV diagnosis can happen 2 anyone who isn't protecting themselves

@POZIAM Tell us why having a social network of #HIV positive people is important to have, and why should people join? http://ow.ly/2Zcd8

POZIAM:
@CDCNPIN It is important to have because when we are newly Dx we want to find others in the same boat. We want proof we aren't unicorns.
@CDCNPIN People should join because there is no greater feeling then being comforted by someone who has expereinced the same diagnosis
@CDCNPIN or discovering that you helped someone realize thie journey is one they need to take alone.

@POZIAM How do you feel that the use of social media is affecting #HIV prevention efforts in the US?

POZIAM:
@CDCNPIN Social media is allowing everyday people like myself to become activists overnight. It has given me & any others a purpose in life

@POZIAM What do you want to say to those out there working in #HIV prevention?

POZIAM
@CDCNPIN Thank you for your efforts and continue to inform others that we are responsible for our own sexual health-Your work is important
